McGladrey Promotes Rick Bailine to Washington National Tax Leader
WASHINGTON, D.C. – (December 14, 2011) – McGladrey & Pullen, LLP, which operates under the McGladrey brand as one of the nation's leading providers of assurance, tax and consulting services, recently promoted Rick Bailine to Washington national tax leader, based out of the firm's Washington, D.C. office.

Bailine has more than 30 years of experience in corporate tax, including extensive experience in transactions, including mergers, spin-offs, internal restructurings and cross-border acquisitions. Prior to joining McGladrey, he was principal-in-charge with a Big Four accounting firm. He has also served in the corporate reorganization branch of the national office of the Internal Revenue Service, office of the chief counsel in Washington, D.C., where he had the authority to sign private letter rulings and technical advice memoranda on behalf of the IRS. Bailine was selected to write precedential revenue rulings for publication in the Internal Revenue Bulletin, and received an award for sustained superior performance for his work in corporate acquisitions and liquidations.
Bailine is a contributing editor and advisor to Corporate Taxations, where he previously authored a bimonthly column analyzing private letter rulings addressing corporate tax issues. He has also written numerous articles for other tax publications, including The Tax Advisor, Journal of Taxation and Journal of Bank Taxation. He earned his BBA from Ohio University and a J.D. from Western New England College School of Law. He also holds a Master of Law and Taxation from the College of William and Mary, Marshall-Wythe School of Law.
