McGladrey Enhances Tax Services by Naming Ramon Camacho International Tax Principal
WASHINGTON, DC – (June 28, 2012) – McGladrey LLP, a leading provider of assurance, tax and consulting services, recently announced the continued expansion of its Washington National Tax office with the addition of Ramon Camacho as an international tax principal.
In his new role, Camacho advises clients on a variety of international tax and capital markets issues, including tax planning and compliance, due diligence and documentation initiatives, restructurings, and tax controversy (including tax shelters).
"Ramon's deep expertise in international tax matters, and his experience with the IRS will round out our already strong tax team," said Rick Bailine, Washington national tax leader for McGladrey. "We understand that, in today's increasingly virtual and competitive world, more and more of our clients are expanding their operations internationally. Ramon's expertise will be invaluable in helping us understand our client's evolving needs so that we can help them succeed."
Prior to joining McGladrey, Camacho spent almost 20 years serving clients from the national offices of national accounting and tax firms. Most recently, he was the technical tax leader for international and cross-border finance matters. Prior to that, Camacho was responsible for another firm's international tax practice, and he served clients as part of a Big Four firm's international tax consulting group.
Camacho also worked at the Internal Revenue Service Office of Chief Counsel (International), for four years where he served as an attorney-advisor. While at the IRS, Camacho developed and proposed a number of international tax policy alternatives, authored various Treasury regulations and acted as a technical adviser to the Senate Finance Committee with respect to the international tax and financial products provisions of the Taxpayer Relief Act of 1997.
"McGladrey has a reputation for truly understanding clients' needs and for helping them meet, and exceed, their goals," said Camacho. "I am energized by the opportunity to contribute to such a dynamic team."
Camacho graduated from Columbia University with a B.A. in English Literature. He has a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
