AICPA Selects Natalie Tucker as Vice-Chair of Technical
WASHINGTON, D.C. — (September 4, 2012) – The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) recently selected Natalie Tucker, a director with McGladrey LLP's Washington National Tax practice, as vice-chair of the AICPA's Tax Methods & Periods Technical Resource Panel (TRP) for the 2012-2013 year, which begins in October.
"Natalie's selection to this position for the upcoming membership year represents recognition by her peers of her technical skills and abilities, as well as her extensive contributions to the work of the AICPA in this vitally important area of practice,” said Rick Bailine, principal-in-charge of McGladrey's Washington National Tax practice. "Natalie's continued involvement with the AICPA contributes to the profession by allowing her to share her extensive technical knowledge and adds value to McGladrey clients through the additional insights she gains through interaction with some of the industry's best and brightest."
Tucker currently serves as the accounting methods and periods technical leader for McGladrey's Washington National Tax practice. She researches and analyzes tax technical issues in this functional area and consults with McGladrey clients to address tax technical issues, including identification of tax planning ideas and structuring alternatives. Tucker's experience also includes drafting technical arguments to address the Internal Revenue Service National Office's position on various issues, drafting internal guidance regarding implications of recent tax guidance issued and drafting comment letters to the IRS and Treasury Department on proposed guidance. In addition, she is the author of numerous articles on accounting method issues and a frequent presenter at AICPA, American Bar Association and McGladrey meetings and webcasts.
Before joining McGladrey in 2007, Tucker worked for a Big Four accounting firm's national tax department. She has been a member of the AICPA's Tax Methods & Periods Technical Resource Panel (TRP) for two years, and recently co-chaired the TRP's Repair Regulations Task Force. In addition to her roles with the AICPA, Tucker serves as vice-chair of the American Bar Association (ABA) Tax Section's Committee on Capital Recovery & Leasing and is a member of the ABA Tax Section's Committee on Tax Accounting.
