McGladrey Names New Leader for New York Health Care Practice
NEW YORK – (May 3, 2012) – McGladrey LLP, a leading provider of assurance, tax and consulting services recently announced the continued expansion of its health care industry practice with the addition of Steve McClelland as a partner in the firm's New York office.
In his new role, McClelland will lead the office's Health Care Industry Practice, which serves more than 400 not-for-profit and health care clients locally. Across the nation, McGladrey specialists deliver effective and affordable solutions to nearly 3,000 health care institutions.
"Steve is looking forward to meeting our clients and developing new relationships," said Ian Benjamin, leader of the office's Not-for-Profit Industry Practice. "He has spent his entire career working with members of our local health care community and has great ideas about how we can help them achieve their business goals."
"We are pleased to have Steve as our New York Health Care Practice Leader," said Dan Vandenberghe, National leader of the Health Care Practice. "He brings to our firm and our clients a strong combination of experience, which will serve our clients well."
McClelland brings nearly 20 years of experience to McGladrey. Prior to joining the firm, he spent the majority of his career working in the health care practices of Big Four firms in New York.
McClelland has extensive experience serving integrated health systems, academic medical centers, community hospitals, long-term care facilities, home health and hospice companies, diagnostic and treatment centers, managed care organizations and not-for-profit entities. He has provided a wide array of service offerings to not-for-profit and publicly traded entities, including financial statement audits, A-133 and pension audits, agreed upon procedures relating to debt offerings, procedures relating to cost reports, procedures relating to SEC filings, and forensic and litigation support services.
The New York office is part of McGladrey's Northeast region. In the New York metro area, the firm employs more than 600 employees and serves thousands of clients operating in the health care, not for profit, financial services, private equity, consumer products, food and beverage, technology, life sciences and real estate/construction sectors.
McClelland resides with his family in Massapequa, N.Y., and was honored in 2010 by the Long Island Business News as the recipient of a "40 Under 40" Award.
McClelland's addition follows last month's addition of Dan Head as principal in its business consulting health care practice for the Northeast and Southeast regions. Based in Vienna, Va., Head is a key member of McGladrey's national health care team, who has experience optimizing electronic health record technology and implementing health claims processing best practices to mitigate fraud, waste and abuse.
