McGladrey Named 2011 Mayor's Business Recognition Award WinnerBALTIMORE (December 6, 2011) –McGladrey & Pullen, LLP, a leading provider of assurance, tax and consulting services under the McGladrey brand, was recently named a recipient of the 2011 Mayor's Business Recognition Award for demonstrating outstanding community service and other contributions through the firm's Community Service Initiative, annual Volunteer Day and other outreach efforts that have significantly improved the City of Baltimore. "It has been rewarding to see the enthusiasm and the spirit of giving that our employees have brought to this program," said Marty Brunk, Baltimore office managing partner with McGladrey & Pullen. "At McGladrey, we understand the importance of supporting the communities where our clients and people live and work. Community service is part of the culture of our firm. We are honored to be among the other award winners who are doing great work in Baltimore." The winners of the 2011 Mayor's Award were honored at the Mayor's Business Recognition Awards Luncheon, December 5, 2011, at the Hyatt Regency Baltimore. Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake joined the Baltimore Development Corporation and the Greater Baltimore Committee in presenting the awards. The firm has sponsored similar events, including its 2009 Holiday Day-of-Service event at the Maryland Food Bank in lieu of a holiday party, where our team sorted and packed 69,660 pounds of food (equates to 56,177 meals); its first national Volunteer Day, where our Baltimore team logged 168 volunteer hours building floating wetlands and performing clean-up duties for Baltimore's Living Classrooms; monthly Jeans Day for designated charities; and numerous other volunteer activities. The McGladrey Community Service Initiative is coordinated by the firm's Baltimore Culture Club, which focuses on developing employee engagement and team building. About McGladrey |
