McGladrey Grows New York Office, Hires Four New Directors to Enhance Industry Knowledge, Technical Capabilities
NEW YORK – (December 15, 2011) – McGladrey & Pullen, LLP, a leading provider of tax and consulting services under the McGladrey brand, continues to strategically expand, recently announcing the addition of four veteran, director-level hires in its New York office.

Newly hired employees include:
- Andrew Bannon – director, technology advisory services group. Bannon has more than 15 years of experience in customized application development, IT strategy, software quality assurance, enterprise application integration and business process management. He has provided consulting services as part of a Big Four firm and with a global management and technology firm, where he served as a leader on a variety of technology initiatives, including large-scale systems implementations and multi-year application modernization programs. Bannon holds a bachelor's degree in computer information systems from Norwich University.
- Catherine Del Re, CPA – director, state and local tax practice. Del Re has more than 16 years of experience with a Big Four firm. She leads the McGladrey Northeast Indirect Tax Practice, and specializes in all types of indirect taxes (sales/use, gross receipts, excise tax, etc.) and unclaimed property. In the indirect tax arena, she has performed diagnostic reviews, quantified and resolved exposure, favorably mitigated multi-million dollar audit assessments and secured multi-million dollar sales/use tax refunds for clients. In the unclaimed property arena, in addition to mitigating unclaimed property audit assessments, she has helped multi-state corporations evaluate their unclaimed property compliance systems, quantified exposure, negotiated multi-state voluntary disclosure agreements, and assisted in the development of policies and procedures. Del Re has extensive experience working with companies in a variety of industries, including financial services, manufacturing, life sciences, consumer products, transportation and utilities. She holds a bachelor's degree in public accounting from Pace University, a master's degree in taxation from Fairleigh Dickenson University and a graduate certificate in state and local tax from Fairleigh Dickenson. Del Re is a CPA in New York and New Jersey and is a member of the American Institute of CPAs.
- Daniel Desire, CPA – director, health care. Desire has more than 20 years of experience providing audit and accounting services to not-for-profit health care entities with public accounting firms, including leading audit team engagements to meet specialized requirements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Standards and the Government Accounting Standards. Desire holds a B.B.A. from Bernard M. Baruch College, City University of New York and is a CPA. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, the New York State Society of CPAs and the Bernard M. Baruch College Alumni Association.
- Andrew Ellsweig, CPA, CGEIT – director, risk advisory services group. Ellsweig will focus on technology-related risks and control. He has more than 25 years of experience establishing and managing IT audit functions for major corporations, on the client side as well as with a Big Four firm. Ellsweig provides services to clients in a variety of industries, including financial services, real estate, consumer electronics, pharmaceutical, telecommunications, manufacturing and entertainment. He holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Rhode Island with a minor in management information systems.
