Brian Schebler Named Chair of GAQC Executive CommitteeBrian Schebler, National Director of Public Sector Services for McGladrey & Pullen, LLP, recently was named chair of the AICPA Governmental Audit Quality Center (GAQC) Executive Committee. The GAQC is a voluntary membership center for CPA firms, and promotes the importance of quality governmental audits and the value of such audits to purchasers of governmental audit services. McGladrey & Pullen was one of the first firms to join the GAQC, and Mr. Schebler was a member of its initial Executive Committee. The Executive Committee establishes general policies of the GAQC and oversees its activities and membership requirements. Mr. Schebler primarily is responsible for McGladrey's government, nonprofit, and compliance auditing approaches, as well as for the maintenance of its Government Industry Manual, Nonprofit Organizations Manual, Health Care Manual, and Compliance Audit Manual. He provides technical support to the Firm's professionals and is involved with the design and presentation of internal and external professional education courses. Mr. Schebler is a member of the Comptroller General of the United States Advisory Council on Government Auditing Standards, and he also has served several terms on the AICPA State and Local Government Expert Panel. |
