With the economy in the early stages of recovery, more private equity groups are looking to initial public offerings as viable exit strategies. This year, more than 60 IPOs have been priced in the U.S., with over 120 more active in the current backlog. To help private equity funds and their portfolio companies determine if going public is right for them, McGladrey & Pullen LLP, Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP and William Blair & Company are hosting the first in a series of web seminars concerning the IPO process and best practices.
In addition to giving an overview of the U.S. IPO market, the panel of professionals - Guy Gross, audit partner with McGladrey & Pullen; Bob Wild, corporate and securities partner with Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP; and Brett Paschke, head of Equity Capital Markets: Corporate Finance at William Blair & Company - will discuss such factors including:
- Timing for going public and the viability of the strategy - from an underwriter's perspective
- Preparing your disclosure documents and post-IPO SEC reporting
- Key accounting and audit issues
