Internships

Looking for an opportunity to gain some experience? An internship is a great way to do it! Could you become an intern at McGladrey & Pullen?

Read on to see who qualifies. Intern candidates should:

  • Be approximately 12-18 months away from completing their Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree, preferably in Accounting or a related field.
  • Possess good communication and computer skills.
  • Be team players who are motivated to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Show a desire to be customer-focused.

Most of our offices in larger metropolitan areas offer internship opportunities.  While internship experiences can vary from office to office, the following are the common components:

  • Orientation and training—From their first week, interns are provided opportunities for acclimating themselves to our organization.  We provide training both formal and on-the job to prepare interns for their role and responsibilities.
  • Intern program events—Many offices host several events throughout the internship period, both formal and informal, planned and impromptu.  From lunch-and-learn workshops to a night at a local sporting event or community service projects, interns gather with their peers and co-workers to develop both personally and professionally alongside of the work experience they gain.
  • Intern Web cast series—Our interns have the opportunity to attend monthly national Web casts hosted by firm leadership.  These Web casts offer our interns insight into our leaders as individuals, their goals for the firm, and a perspective on our organization beyond the local market.
  • Performance Management—Interns set goals for their experience and are measured against those goals in determining opportunities for full-time employment with our firm.
  • Summer Intern Capstone Event—Summer interns attend a 2 ½ day national conference which focuses on defining and developing their Career Aspirations.  This is an opportunity for interns to network with peers from across the country and to take some time to focus on their long-term development.
