Summary of experience
Joe Adams was named the Managing Partner and CEO of McGladrey & Pullen, LLP in May 2011. Throughout his tenure with the firm, he has held increasingly responsible leadership positions including his former role as the Leader for the Great Lakes Region since 2008. Adams has been a member of the McGladrey Leadership Team since 2008.

From 1998 to 2008, he served as Executive Managing Director of the Great Lakes Economic Unit, where he successfully completed one of the largest integrations in the firm’s history. Prior to 1998, Adams was an assurance partner and served clients in a variety of industries, primarily publishing and manufacturing and distribution. While he has more than two decades of progressive experience in the auditing area, he has also advised clients in many other areas, such as mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, operations along with organizational and strategy matters.

Along with his primary client service roles, Adams has served as Personnel Partner, Practice Development Partner and Concurring Partner. Adams has served in a variety of firmwide roles, including the McGladrey & Pullen Board of Directors, the Marketing Standing Group, the People Standing Group, the Women’s Advisory Committee and others.

He has been involved with numerous professional, civic and charitable organizations.

Education
Adams graduated from DePaul University with a master’s of business administration and bachelor’s degrees in accounting in 1979 and 1977 respectively.
